1 Take ☝️
Today, I’m excited to share what I’ve been building in stealth over the past several weeks: GMneedhelp (GMNH) and how you can help / get involved (see bottom).
GMNH is a community-owned learning platform which provides on-demand personalized guidance on all questions crypto, whether they be 101 concepts, tech support, or culture-related.
From running HAX (my crypto education community) to writing this newsletter, I’ve never been more convinced that learning crypto/web3, just like anything complex, requires access to someone who’s knowledgeable and you can trust — at your fingertips. With access, you’re able to get past the various points of getting stuck (which are different for everyone). Without it, you’re likely to abandon.
GMNH democratizes access to this knowledgeable, trusted person for everyone through the power of community and crypto-incentives. This is how it works:
Ask a question on crypto 101, tech support or culture via our web platform
GMNH crypto-expert community member replies with free individualized guidance & earns rewards.
To see more details about the vision and when the alpha launch is, check out my tweet below or our blog post.
How you can help / get involved
The BEST way to help today is to RT/fav the Twitter thread above to help spread the word - which I'd greatly appreciate! I'm excited to see the reaction from the broader ecosystem and begin building a community with a core group of true believers.
To get involved:
If you're a crypto expert & love designing / contributing to early communities, join our Discord server. Can't wait to see you!
If you're new to crypto and want to be an early user of our alpha, sign up for our waitlist.
I’m looking forward for GMNH to revolutionize not only how web3 education happens, but transform online learning more broadly. Thank you for being a loyal reader of this newsletter and helping spread the word about GMNH.
To everyone out there looking to learn about web3 and join this revolution:
2 Things To Check Out 🤔
1. Competition is coming to NFT marketplaces. Most NFT marketplaces thus far are run as web2 companies selling web3 technology (NFT) - take a cut of transactions. If you look closely, is OpenSea that different than Ebay?
LooksRare is attempting to change the game (and level the playing field) by taking a web3-native, community-first approach: 1) taking a lower fee of 2% (compared to OS’s 2.5%), 2) sharing 100% of transaction fees with the community of $LOOKS token holders, and 3) providing users the ability to earn and stake $LOOKS through the buying/selling of NFTs on its marketplaces. My friend Alokik wrote about the dilemma OpenSea has between the traditional route of going public vs. offering tokens to its community. No one is sure how this is gonna play out, but it’s gonna be interesting…
2. You gotta check out South Park’s take on NFTs - as always, on point!
Until next week, always be learning
